Arsenal FC transfer news: West Bromwich Albion skipper Jonny Evans to snub Gunners interest to sign for Manchester City

Where will Evans be playing his football next season?

Saturday, April 14, 2018

Jonny Evans is set to snub interest from Arsenal this summer, because he prefers a move to Manchester City instead.

The West Bromwich Albion centre-half has a relegation clause in his contract which would allow him to leave the Hawthorns for just £3 million.

And with the Baggies seemingly set for the Championship next season, the former Manchester United man is in high demand.

According to the Daily Mirror , both Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola are huge admirers of the 30-year-old, and want to bring him to their club’s respectively.

However, it is understood Evans prefers a move back to Manchester over a move to the Emirtaes.

With Per Mertesacker retiring and the recent poor form of Shkodran Mustafi, it is believed the Gunners are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements.

A move for Evans seems unlikely to materialise at this stage however.
