Martin Dubravka is set to join Newcastle in a permanent move this summer

Newcastle United will look to sign goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in a permanent deal from Sparta Prague this summer, according to reports.

The 29-year-old Slovakia international joined the Magpies in a deadline day loan deal in January.

And he has impressed at St James’ Park, keeping three clean sheets in his first six Premier League appearances for the club.

And it appears the Newcastle hierarchy have also been impressed by his performances, with the club preparing an offer to land him when the transfer window opens.

Newcastle had the option to sign Dubravka permanently as part of his loan move to Tyneside, and it is claimed they will pay around £4million to sign him.

Another on-loan player to impress at Newcastle is Brazilian winger Kenedy, who has scored twice in eight games since his move from Chelsea also in January.

According to Sky Sports, the club are keen to sign both players permanently in the summer but it appears only Dubravka’s move is looking likely at the moment.

Speaking during Sky’s coverage of Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday, presenter David Jones said: “Newcastle would love to keep Kenedy, the problem is his form has alerted one or two of Europe’s major clubs. So that might be a bit of a barrier.

“They have more chance, they think, of making the loan signing of their goalkeeper Martin Dubravka permanent.

“Our sources tell us the option is there, the intention is there, to make it a permanent signing.

“They just haven’t got it over the line just yet.â€
