Mauricio Pochettino is happy at Tottenham Hotspur and will REJECT any advances made by Chelsea this summer, according to reports.
It was claimed on Tuesday that Pochettino is the Blues’ number one target to replace Antonio Conte , who is widely expected to leave Stamford Bridge after Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester United .
The Spurs boss has hinted at his frustration over the club’s failure to back him in the transfer market, saying after Sunday’s 5-4 win over Leicester: “If we want to play and be real contenders for big, big trophies, yes, we need to review a little.”
He also told chairman Daniel Levy – famed for his low-cost transfer deals and strict wage structure – he needed to “take risks and be brave” to end the club’s hunt for silverware.
And, according to the Daily Star, Tottenham are ready to give Pochettino what he wants to ensure his long-term future is in north London.
It is claimed the Argentine is happy to remain in charge of Spurs and will turn down any offers if London rivals Chelsea come calling this summer.
Despite investing nowhere near what their rival clubs have spent in the transfer market, Pochettino has guided Spurs to three straight top-four finishes in a row.
With the club set to kick off a new era in their newly-built stadium next season, and with Champions League football to boot, the 46-year-old is ready to push the team forward as they look to end their ten-year wait for a trophy.
