The hapless goalkeeper made an embarrassing blooper as he warmed up for his first appearance since THAT Champions League game
We thought it couldn’t get worse for Loris Karius.
The Liverpool stopper was thrust into the spotlight from relative obscurity after his hapless performance in the Champions League final made him the talk of the town.
Making his comeback after a month out of the spotlight, Karius was hoping to erase all memories of that Real Madrid game with a solid pre-season performance.
Against Chester, this was hardly going to be difficult – and they thumped their lowly opposition 7-0.
But poor Karius was thwarted by a loose ball in training which trickled through his legs and into the net – with all the action caught in the background of an LFCTV interview.
It will hardly renew Reds fans’ faith in the 25-year-old German, although the Liverpool fans were eager to show their support to him by giving him a standing ovation before the match.
For their sake, we hope Klopp has a Plan B for next season…
